Shahid Kapoor's Cinematic Evolution by IIFA


Shahid Kapoor is a superstar who needs no introduction and rightfully so. However, it wasn’t always like that, he has struggled and come a long way to reach where he is today. We all know him as the cute dancer in the song Taal and the adorable boy in Aankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra. He was indeed the original chocolate boy of Bollywood who has now become a heartthrob with some of the most super hit movies in his kitty. His acting prowess has only enhanced through the years and despite the hardships, he has only thrived. As the actor celebrates his birthday today, we take a look at his brilliant cinematic evolution:

Ishq Vishk


This debut film of Shahid introduced us to a chocolate boy who charmed us all with his good looks and innocent face. He won the Best Male Debut Filmfare Award for this movie.

Vivah


Once again, Shahid managed to make the audience fall in love with him because of his charisma. This movie depicted the arranged marriage concept beautifully and was a super-hit as well.

Jab We Met


One of his finest works, JWM was also a megahit at the box office. Shahid received a lot of praise for his exceptional acting skills and the sizzling chemistry with Kareena.

Kaminey


His double role in this movie was exemplary and attracted the audience in hordes. This was a big leap for him yet he played not one but two characters brilliantly.

R... Rajkumar


It was one of the most successful commercial hits of Shahid Kapoor and did well at the box office. It was a pure masala flick that garnered the audience’s attention with super hit songs and action sequences.

Haider


This was undoubtedly Shahid’s finest performance in his 11-year long career. Vishal Bhardwaj’s adaptation of Hamlet also became a critic’s favourite for the acting prowess of the cast and incredible direction.

Udta Punjab


Shahid admitted it was one of his most challenging roles yet he delivered it so effortlessly and even won the Best Actor (Critics) category for the same.

Padmaavat


Shahid Kapoor had the demeanour of a brave Rajput king in this movie and he played it with understated ease and made the most of this role. 

Kabir Singh


Being Shahid’s biggest blockbuster of all, Shahid’s power-packed performance in Kabir Singh proves his acting comes from the heart. The conviction in his role was enough to make this movie a success.
