Most expensive project of Dharma Production Brahmastra may cut down Takht's budget?

While Dharma Productions head Karan Johar is one of the most prominent filmmakers in the country, 2019 has not been as fruitful for him as expected. Apart from his latest produced Good Newwz, all the films under his banner failed to perform at the Box Office.

According to the reports, Karan is taking some serious steps and introspection and has decided to reduce the budget of his ambitious project Takht and below are the details of all other precautions he has decided to take.

“From scrapping commercially uncertainly projects, to cutting down the budget of his ambitious directorial Takht, Karan Johar is considering all of that,” said a source in a chat with Bollywood Hungama.

Karen already has two huge films Dostana 2 and Brahmastra announced apart from Takht. As we have already seen that comedy clearly has worked for the banner with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Starrer Good Newwz, the honcho will be going all out with Dostana 2 starring Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor.

Whereas Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra that has turned out to be Dharma’s most expensive film has been told to tighten the budget.

“Ayan has been over-shooting Bramhastra. The film is taking longer to complete than any other previous Dharma Production. Costly stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt, all of whom have been paid their market price, are apparently charging extra for all the additional dates needed to complete Bramhastra,” said the source.

The filmmaker has decided to take serious steps on tightening the budget. Grapevine also has that no Dharma film will be shot abroad in 2020 and the maker may even scrap some which are on the cards.
