Gulabo Sitabo: After the success of AndhaDhun, Ayushmann Khurrana has become one of the most sought after actors in the industry and probably is on the hot list of every director. Now after locking some exciting scripts like Article 15, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Bala, the actor is all set to work with maverick filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and will be sharing the screen with none other than, Amitabh Bachchan.
The movie featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan will go on floors in the next month and is written by Juhi Chaturvedi. The movie is the comedy, titled as Gulabo Sitabo. While talking to Mumbai Mirror, Shoojit shared, “Juhi and I have been working on this script for a while now. We all know whenever she comes up with a story, it has her trademark quirk. As soon as I read it, I shared it with Mr Bachchan and Ayushmann at the same time. I thought it would take some time to develop and take it forward, but everyone was so enthusiastic to work on this script, they figured out their dates and here we are, planning to release the film this year itself”.
Speaking about the quirky title, the filmmaker shared that it’s a term widely used for glove puppet characters in Uttar Pradesh. “Regarding its association with the story… you will have to wait and watch the film to know more”, adds Sircar.
While Shoojit has already worked with Amitabh Bachchan in Piku, he will be collaborating for the first time with Ayushmann Khurrana.
