Badhaai Ho becomes Ayushmann Khurrana's highest opener thanks to the Dussehra holiday; earns Rs 7.29 crore

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra-starrer Badhaai Ho released yesterday, on October 28, 2018, to an encouraging response at the box office. The comedy, that fetched positive reviews, seems to have made the most of the partial holiday of Dussehra. So much so, that it has become Ayushmann's highest opener ever. That's right! The film has managed to surpass the opening day collections of even AndhaDhun, which was a critically-acclaimed thriller.

Despite the collections from the state of Madhya Pradesh not coming in, the film has managed to earn a whopping Rs 7. 29 crore on its opening day on Thursday. Since the day was observed as Dussehra in certain parts of the country and it was a partial holiday, the film seems to have made the most of it. Tweeting about the same, trade analyst, Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#BadhaaiHo takes a FLYING START... Gets the advantage of partial holiday... Expected to score over the weekend... Thu ₹ 7.29 cr. India biz."
