The trailer of Dishoom starring Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez released yesterday. With the two male leads who are undoubtedly irresistibly hot, the film explores the ‘buddy cop’ genre. John will be seen as the rustic cop Kabir whereas Varun as the goofy and entertaining cop Junaid Ansari.
Dishoom‘s trailer takes off quite directly without beating around the bush as it introduces us to the plot. An Indian cricketer is kidnapped and it is the job of our special agents, Kabir and Junaid, to rescue him before the final game.
While the plot seems extremely basic, the film seems to be relying highly on the camaraderie of the two leads. It even reminds us of Jackie Chan’s famed buddy cop genre film Rush Hour and Varun’s character looks quite close to that of Chris Tucker.
Dishoom‘s leading lady Jacqueline’s character too, is that of a special agent. Of course, her glam look is the highlight and not her character.
The trailer has promised some explosive action and that could be one of the biggest selling points for the film and if the soundtrack hits the jackpot, this film will benefit from its buzz.
Rohit Dhawan has helmed the film and it seems he followed his father’s footsteps when it comes to coming up with the character of his brother Varun Dhawan. The actor’s comic timing is almost similar to Main Tera Hero.
After a long time, Akshaye Khanna returns to the silver screen and it is a welcome change. He has been cast as the lead antagonist in the film.
All in all, the film seems to be just another B-town flick which will rely on its commercial nature to appease younger audiences.
